Montye Male, a spokeswoman for TRW at its Space and Technology headquarters in Redondo Beach, Calif., confirmed Friday that Kennett is "one of the areas we're looking at closely" for a plant.

However, she said it would be months before the company makes a final decision. The plant would probably employ at least 200 persons. But the production stage for this project could be five or more years down the road, according to the company, if congressional funding is approved.
