Truck rolls over on I-55 in Perry County

The driver of a semitrailer traveling south in Perry County was injured Monday after the truck rolled over on Interstate 55 near mile marker 135.

The accident occurred around 2:40 p.m., according to the Perry County Sheriff's Department.

For several hours, emergency personnel had the southbound lane closed off for about a mile while deputies investigated and cleared the scene.

An ambulance transported the driver to a nearby hospital, although a representative for the sheriff's office was unsure of the person's injuries.
