What were the call letters of the station where Mary Richards worked in the television hit "The Mary Tyler Moore Show?"

How many hits does it take to sink a battleship in the classic board game of the same name?

Who replaced Michael Keaton in the third "Batman" movie?

Contestants were challenged with those questions and many more Saturday at Notre Dame Regional High School's fourth annual trivia night. Hundreds of people divided into 8-person teams at the event, which raises funds for the school's performing arts program.

Drama teacher Cynthia King said this year's event drew more people than ever before. Ticket-takers estimated attendance at 330.

Some teams included teachers and area residents, some were made up of parents and alumni and some were entirely of students.

King said questions for the contest were compiled by former Notre Dame students who are experienced at hosting such events. Chris and Betsy Wells, Kent LeVan and Ted and Peggy Dolter worked on similar trivia nights in St. Louis.

The game was 10 rounds of 10 questions each. Each round involves different categories. Questions in one round, called "Something about Mary," ranged from Mary, Queen of Scots to R&B singer Mary J. Blige to the Hail Mary football pass.

In addition to competing in the trivia contest, players also vied for the best decorated table. This year's theme was "New York, New York."

A table led by Bill and Tonya Davis seemed to be the early favorite, with each contestant dressed as a New Yorker, some more famous than others.
