CHARLESTON, Mo. -- A man accused of selling cocaine to a Cape Girardeau murder victim will go on trial starting Aug. 22, a Mississippi County judge decided Tuesday.
Armster "Bud" Robinson III is charged with distribution of a controlled substance. Police were looking for Robinson after the June shooting that killed Matthew "Woody" Ervin after another suspect arrested in the murder linked him to the crime.
Robinson isn't charged in connection with Ervin's murder. Court documents allege Robinson and the other suspect, Thomas Evans, rode with Ervin to the area of Park Drive after the drug sale.
Police found Ervin dead in the street. Evans has told authorities Robinson sold Ervin $50 worth of cocaine.
Robinson was extradited to Missouri from Georgia on Dec. 19 and received a change of venue in his case in January.
His trial is set to take place in one day, and Circuit Court Judge David Dolan will preside.
