The University of Missouri Extension will provide a series of child-care provider training seminars.
The two-hour programs are contracted through the Division of Family Services.
On Thursday at the Perry County Extension office from 7-9 p.m., Rick Sparks, business and industry specialist, will discuss the management of child-care businesses. The program will be repeated March 4 at the Cape Girardeau County Extension office.
"Nutrition Decisions in Child-Care Settings" is the title of a seminar that will be presented Feb. 22 at the Cape County Extension office. Susan Mills, foods and nutrition specialist, will discuss nutritional needs of young children and incorporating food activities into the learning experiences of the child-care setting.
On April 20, Mary Gosche, human development specialist, will facilitate the presentation, "Growth and Development of School-Age Children" at the Cape County Extension Center.
All seminars are free, but pre-registration is required. Handouts will generally be available. These sessions are approved by the Division of Family Services Licensing unit to meet the requirements of in-service training.
Call 243-3581 to register.
