Lori Lain and Beverly Estes, both of Gulliver's Travel Agency Inc. of Cape Girardeau, recently completed an on-site inspection of the Alton Belle, the newest gambling boat on the Mississippi River, at Alton, Ill. The Belle offers two-hour circle cruises.

Lain and Estes were guests of River City Tours and the St. Louis Convention Visitors Bureau.

The Alton Belle offers Las Vegas-style gaming with three decks of continuous casino action. It offers buffet style dining and a full-service restaurant.

Veronica McCormick of Sign Master recently attended the Continuous Forms Table Top exhibit at Stouffer Inn in St. Louis.

Sign Master, 1909 Broadway, recently added W-2 tax forms, checks, register forms, and labels to its line of printing and business cards.

Linda Keel Michel was recently certified as a hypnotherapist by the International Association of Counselors and Therapists.

Michel has received extensive training in a variety of methods, including Eriksonian, LaVellian and self-hypnosis.

Michel, a licensed counselor at Southeast Missouri State University, is also in private practice at the Cope Center, 1221 Kingsway. Cope Center offers stop-smoking, weight-loss and self-hypnosis clinics.

Doris and Herman Joe Ressell of Cape Girardeau were recently honored for achievement as Shaklee sales leaders.

The Ressells received their honors at an international leadership convention at Hyatt Waikoloa resort on the Kohala coast of the Big Island of Hawaii.

New products were introduced at the convention.

Kelvin Birk, a certified public accountant at Earley, Janssen, Begley and Co., recently attended a seminar concerning computer topics.

The seminar, sponsored by the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants, was designed to provide state-of-the-art knowledge in network and application software, consulting services and hardware. Among topics were Lotus 1-2-3, Novel networks, microcomputer consulting and a review of integrated accounting software.

Martha Parsons of Eugene's Hair Stylist in Cape Girardeau, recently attended the Heil Beauty Supply show at Paducah, Ky., where she trained with Jessica Vartoughian of Jessica's Nail Cosmetics in Beverly Hills.

Parsons specializes in nail care.

Also attending a recent Paducah show was Eugene Parsons, owner of Eugene's. He participated in a Graham Webb International show at Paducah.

Thomas R. Hamilton of Autoland Auto Sales, 618 S. Kingshighway, recently won $4,000 at a Paragould, Ark. auto auction.

"Everyone who sells a car at the auction is eligible to win the prize," said Hamilton. "I couldn't believe it when they called my number."
