Marvin L. Miller of Cape Girardeau, a special representative for Franklin Life Insurance Co., has graduated from the company's Trainee Associate Program Congress VI.
Miller, a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor's degree in business administration, is owner of Miller Accounting and Financial Services in Cape Girardeau. He has been in public accounting for more than 15 years.
Miller is a member of the National Society of Public Accountants and the Independent Accountants Society of Missouri. He is president of the Bootheel chapter of the Missouri society.
Franklin has more than 3,000 sales associates serving approximately 1 million policy owners throughout the U.S.

Dr. Michael C. Wulfers of Cape Girardeau recently attended the 44th annual Scientific Assembly of the Missouri Academy of Family Physicians at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach.
Topics during the three-day meeting included cancer pain management, pharmacology, health-care maintenance, gynecological procedures, academic and sports medicine and obstetrical problems.
Wulfers, a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, received continuing medical education credit for attending the meeting. Academy members are required to complete 150 hours of mandatory continuing study every three years.
Wulfers' office is in the Medical Arts Building, 937 Broadway.

David Rudert of Perryville recently attended a national sales and education conference sponsored by the Aid Association for Lutherans, a fraternal benefit society headquartered in Appleton, Wis.
Rudert qualified for the conference, held at Coeur d'Alene Resort in Idaho, by providing outstanding sales and service to association members during 1991. He was also honored for achieving excellence in fraternal services and special volunteer recognition events.
Rudert, who joined the association field staff in 1990, is an associate of the Jack Hollingsworth Agency in Independence.

Three Cape Girardeau physicians have been cited by the Missouri State and American medical associations.
Dr. David Westrich and Dr. Vijaya Mangunta will receive the Physicians Recognition Award. Dr. William P. Thorpe recently received the award.
The award, presented by the Missouri State Medical Association and the American Medical Association, is given to physicians who voluntarily complete 150 credit hours of continuing education courses over a three-year period.
The purpose of the award is to recognize physicians who keep up on their medical specialties and add to their knowledge.
