Kimberly Plunk, an employee at Accu Grow Gardens and Florist, 1110 N. Cape Rock Drive, has completed the Phil Rulloda Advanced Hands-on Design Seminar presented recently in St. Louis.

The seminar included topics on abstract design, European styles and techniques, foliage braiding, tropical and contemporary wedding flowers.

Plunk is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor of science degree in agriculture with emphasis on horticulture.

Rulloda, author of "Tropicals & Contemporary Design," is a noted floral designer and educator. He is the recipient of the first Award of Design Influence presented by the American Institute of Floral design.

Scott Mainord of Scott County Farm Bureau insurance agency was recently recognized for service with the firm.

Mainord, who has been with the firm 15 years, received his award during the company's All Star Sales Conference held recently at Lake Ozark.

SCOTT CITY A total of 30 Wetterau Inc. truck drivers from the Scott City Division were honored here recently for safe driving. The 30 drivers represent a total of 251 years and 12.5 million miles of safe driving.

Those receiving awards were:

Norman Cooper, 19 years; Erwin Fritsache and Don Wright, 18 years; Jim O'Neal and Walt Copeland, 17 years; Mitch Stafford, 15 years; Larry Taylor, Arnold Bowen and Joe Nall, 14 years; Ollie Carroll, 12 years; Bud Young, Dennis Roth and Lonnie Seabaugh, 10 years; Ron Rose and Carl Howell, nine years; Jim Wagoner and Jerry McCullough, eight years; Don Sander, five years; Ron Holder, Rick Howard, Richard Spalding, Stan Jansen and Elmer Brown, three years; John Welter and Norman Brant, two years; and Ron Sanders, Ben Proffer, Larry Hahn, Don Gosche and Bob Stull, one year.

Charlotte Craig, director of Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center, and Desma Reno of the Southeast Missouri State University School of Nursing have been nominated for the third annual Tribute To Missouri Nurses Awards program sponsored by the St. Louis University Hospital Auxiliary and St. Louis University School of Nursing.

Also nominated were Karen Hendrickson, Donna Shirrell, and Marilyn Schott, nurses at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

A total of 508 nominations have been made for the award.

Finalists will be honored during a banquet at Adam's Mark Hotel in St. Louis April 25.

David S. Glastetter, broker and owner of ERA Cape Realty, recently attended ERA's 20th annual business conference in Las Vegas.

Glastetter attended several seminars.

More than 5,000 brokers and associates attended the conference. Site of the 1993 ERA conference will be Washington, D.C.

Carol Sparkman of Cape Girardeau recently attended the annual meeting of the Southern Medical Association Auxiliary in Atlanta, Ga.

Sparkman is vice councilor of Missouri for SMA Auxiliary. She works closely with the Missouri state councilor and assists the SMA Auxiliary Membership Committee.

The SMA Auxiliary, headquartered at Birmingham, Ala., was established in 1924 to provide a program for spouses of physician members of the Southern Medical Association.
