William R. Schott of Cape Girardeau, a certified public accountant, recently attended an accounting and auditing annual standards refresher course sponsored by the Missouri Society of CPAs.
The course is prepared by the continuing professional education division of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is designed to further the knowledge of CPAs in the changing field of accounting and auditing.
Schott is a partner with Schott & Co. of Cape Girardeau.

Robert M. Bach, Jackson Route 3, recently completed a course in auctioneering and auction sales management at the Missouri Auction School in Kansas City.
Bach's training included lectures and workshops featuring auctioneers from throughout the U.S.
Subjects included antique auctions, livestock, furniture, real estate, general merchandise, and all types of estate auctions.
Bach also participated in selling numerous public auctions in the Kansas City area.

Elaina Boehme has been named employee of the year at South East Missouri Bank.
Boehme, who joined the bank in August 1989 as a proof operator, was promoted to head bookkeeper in July 1991.
She is a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas.
Boehme resides in New Wells with her husband, Stephen Boehme, and daughter, Kristin.

Bill Yeargain of Marble Hill received a 22-year safe-driving award and Connie Dillon of Wappapello received a 17-year pin during the Genesis Transportation Co. Inc. safety and awards banquet at the Holiday Inn in Cape Girardeau.
Randy Griggs of Great West Casualty Co. in South Sioux City, Neb., was guest speaker at the banquet.
A total of 23 awards, presented by the Great West Co. and the American Trucking Association, represented a combined total of more than three million miles of accident-free driving.
Otis Johnson of Cape Girardeau, Charlie Smith of Poplar Bluff and David DePung of Oak Ridge each received seven-year pins; Bill Keller and Henry Winters, both of Cape Girardeau, received six-year pins; and John Crockett of Cape Girardeau received a five-year pin.
Others receiving safe-driving awards included Ken Crowder, Anna, Ill., Rod Dodds, Mountain Grove, Mo. and Steve Hettenhouser, Benton, Mo., four-year awards; Ken Gurley, Scott City; Robert Mathis, McClure, Ill., Jerry Sterling, Jackson, and Dale Tierney, Chaffee, three-year pins; Edward Fellows, Jackson, and Roger Bennett and Virgil Null, both of Cape Girardeau, two-year awards; and Randy Blankenship, Wappapello, Jerry Grooms, Jackson, Leo Schott, Oran, Jerry Thomason, Chaffee, and Robert Tilson, Parma, each one-year awards.

Tim Caldwell of Tamms, an agent in the Country Companies Pulaski-Alexander-Massac Agency, was recently honored for 15 years of services with the insurance and investment group.
Caldwell, who started with the Country Companies in January 1977, serves clients from the Country Companies offices in Broadview Office Plaza in Cape Girardeau.
