Training jets collide while flying in formation

DUNCAN, Okla. -- Two Air Force training jets flying in formation collided Friday over southern Oklahoma, causing one plane to crash.

None of the four people aboard the planes was seriously injured, including two who ejected, military officials said.

Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas, issued a statement saying one of the T-37 jets was able to fly back to the base and land safely with two people aboard.

The two in the other jet ejected before it crashed in a field south of Duncan. Both people who had been aboard were examined at the base hospital and released, said U.S. Air Force Col. Ralph Jodice.

Both sets of pilots were participating in a 55-week NATO jet pilot training program.
