JACKSON -- The James Gang is expected to rob the St. Louis Iron Mountain Railroad steam train Saturday and Sunday.
The train will depart the depot Saturday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., with a dinner train at 5 p.m. On Sunday the train will depart at 1 p.m.
During the 90-minute excursions, crew and passengers will be "taken hostage" in the mock holdup. Passengers should be on the lookout for the gang of desperadoes.
The James Gang's first train robbery occurred Jan. 31, 1874, at Gad's Hill on the Iron Mountain Railroad. The "Little Rock Express" came to a stop at the station, and the gang robbed passengers of more than $3,000.
Friendly volunteers now serve as outlaws for the trips.
