PATTON -- A Patton man was injured Wednesday in a three-car accident near here.
A spokesman for the Missouri Highway Patrol said John Johnson, 71, received moderate injuries when the car he was driving collided with another car and then struck a third.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 72 and Highway 51 at 3:30 p.m. Johnson's car failed to stop at the intersection and collided with a car driven by Michael Ackman, 30, of Patton, who was not injured, the spokesman said. Johnson's vehicle then struck a parked car occupied by Everett Herzinger, 64, of Marble Hill. Herzinger also was not injured in the accident.
Johnson was taken to Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau where he was listed in stable condition late Wednesday.
The patrol said Johnson was ticketed for failure to yield.
