The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for all of Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois -- including Cape Girardeau, Bollinger, Scott, Stoddard, Perry, Alexander and Union counties -- just before 1 p.m. today.
The watch remains in effect until 9 p.m.
The weather service said a second round of storms was expected to hit the area this afternoon, with some thunderstorms possible severe, including large hail, damaging winds and possibly tornadoes.
