Sunday in the Park, an annual fund-raiser for the Community Counseling Center's Family Learning Center, will be held today at the A.C. Brase Arena in Cape Girardeau.
Carnival games for children ages 2-12 will be presented by the Programming and Recreation class at Southeast Missouri State University, taught by Drew Laudi. Children will win food coupons to local restaurants and small prizes.
The Zonta Club will operate a toy flea market where children may purchase used toys for 25 to 50 cents. The East Perry County Jaycees will run a popcorn stand and the Parents Without Partners will operate a helium balloon stand.
Informational booths and health screenings are planned.
Stage entertainment will be provided by the Riverside Gymnastics, Peer Tutors of Jackson High School, Academy of Dance Arts and Lee H. Park Martial Art Institute. Clowns will roam the building.
Outside the building, the Humane Society will present a petting zoo. Near the petting zoo will be a demonstration by Parents as Teachers.
The Community Counseling Center psychosocial rehabilitation members will operate the concession stand.
Admission is 25 cents per person or a maximum of $1 per family. The games will cost 25 to 50 cents.
