Three, three-year positions on the Jackson, Mo., Board of Education and a one-year and three, three-year positions on the Cape Girardeau Board of Education will be filed by voters April 2.
The deadline for registering for school board positions around the state is Tuesday.
Four candidates, including one incumbent, T. Wayne Lewis, a dentist who has served on the board for 15 years, have filed for the Jackson school board.
Other candidates who have filed are Fred Jones, a retired teacher and administrator in the district; Kevin Schaper, an employee of Goodman Midwest; and Mack Illers, who is self-employed.
Jackson school board members Darrell Hanschen and Vicki McDowell are not running for re-election.
Cape Girardeau school board members Sharon Mueller and Steve Trautwein have filed for re-election to three-year positions on the board.
Mueller, the Southeast Missouri regional manager at Dale Carnegie Training, has served on the board for three years. Trautwein, a biology teacher at Southeast Missouri State University, has served since September.
The Rev. William Bird, also a Cape Girardeau school board member, has filed for the one-year position.
Charles Haubold, who serves on the Cape Girardeau Planning and Zoning commission, has filed for a three-year position on the Cape Girardeau school board.
Current board member Robert Blank has not filed for re-election.
Persons interested in filing for any board positions may do so at either district's administrative offices.
