The Cape Girardeau Bicentennial Commission will open a time capsule buried during the city's sesquicentennial celebration in 1956 on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Common Pleas Courthouse Park. The public is invited to attend the ceremony.
A special invitation is extended to community members who worked on the various committees that organized the sesquicentennial.
Contents of the capsule will be used by the Bicentennial Commission to formulate plans for Cape Girardeau's upcoming bicentennial celebration.
