Mellow vocalist Colbie Caillat will perform a concert April 24 in the Bedell Performance Hall on the River Campus. The Grammy winner has a tour scheduled in April, but Cape Girardeau was not listed on it.
SAC -- the Student Activities Council at Southeast Missouri State University -- and River Campus Productions collaborated to bring the concert to the River Campus.
Caillat released her debut album "Coco" in 2007, including her breakthrough single "Bubbly" and released another album in August 2009. She grew up in Southern California and Hawaii and her sound reflects the happy, mellow sunshine of those locales.
Caillat won two honors at the 52nd annual Grammy Awards Jan. 31; one for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals for her duet with Jason Mraz on his song "Lucky" and another as a featured artist on Taylor Swift's "Fearless" album, which garnered Album of the Year.
The concert will be at 8 p.m. April 24. Tickets go on sale to Southeast Students at 9 a.m. Monday at the River Campus Box Office only. The public can purchase tickets at 5 p.m. Monday at metrotix.com or Metrotix outlets. Tickets are $27.50, $32.50 and $37.50. Tickets for the general public will also be on sale at the box office starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
