Ticket outlets have been announced for the 1993 Senior Fun Fest at the Show Me Center May 22.

The event, expected to draw about 5,000 participants from throughout Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois, is free to adults age 55 and over.

From 11 a.m.-4 p.m., participants will be treated to food, fun and special activities.

Corporate sponsors for Senior Fun Fest, which is held every other year during Older Americans Month, are Mercantile Bank of Cape Girardeau; Schnucks; the Southeast Missouri Area Agency on Aging; and Southeast Missouri Hospital.

This year's Senior Fun Fest will have an old West theme and will feature a specially constructed western village, "Gopher Hole." In addition, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy live music, dancing, performing artists and bingo. Refreshments include a complimentary picnic lunch and snacks throughout the afternoon.

Tickets are available free of charge at ticket locations in Cape Girardeau and eight other area communities.

In Cape Girardeau, tickets may be picked up at Schnucks, Mercantile Bank of Cape Girardeau, Boatmen's Bank, National Del Farm and the Nutrition Center.

Jackson ticket outlets are at the Senior Citizens Center, Schaper's IGA Foodliner and Southeast Missouri Hospital Jackson Outreach Services.

Other area ticket outlets are at Sedgewickville's Country Mall; in Marble Hill at Chandler Drug, Twin City Pharmacy and the Nutrition Center. Patton area residents may obtain tickets at the Security Bank of Bollinger County.

In Sikeston, tickets are available at Mercantile Bank of Sikeston and the Heritage House Nutrition Center.

Perryville area residents may get their tickets at the Bank of Perryville (Investors' Club). In Chaffee Medicap Pharmacy, Chaffee IGA, and the Nutrition Center are designated ticket outlets, and in Scott City, tickets are available at Medicap Pharmacy, Economy IGA, Baker's Bestway and the Nutrition Center.

Groups or individuals who would like to become a part of Senior Fun Fest by offering financial assistance or volunteer help are encouraged to contact Donna Gerard through the Southeast Missouri Hospital Marketing and Communications Department at 651-5533.
