A St. Louis man and two St. Louis juveniles are in custody after a brief car pursuit Sunday night.

Jermen J. Rudd, 20, is charged with felony receiving stolen property and misdemeanors resisting arrest, driving while license suspended and speeding. He is in Cape Girardeau County Jail on a $5,000 cash-only bond.

Cape Girardeau police Cpl. Jason Selzer said Monday that police were notified from the Charleston, Mo., police department that Rudd had reportedly stolen a 1999 Ford Expedition and was headed toward Cape Girardeau.

An officer stationed at the Dutchtown exit on Interstate 55 spotted the vehicle and attempted to stop Rudd, Selzer said.

Rudd reportedly took the 93A exit and circled back onto the Interstate, followed by the police officer. Speeds were not significantly high, Selzer said.

By the time Rudd was back on the Interstate, Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Department deputies had placed stop sticks on the highway past the Fruitland exit which Rudd apparently crossed, blowing out the front two tires of the vehicle. Rudd reportedly came to a stop in the median by the 110 mile marker.

Two boys, 14 and 15, also from St. Louis, were found in the vehicle and cited into juvenile court, Selzer said.

No one was injured.
