Three sentenced to prison in Stoddard County

BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- This week's law day at the Stoddard County Justice Center in Bloomfield resulted in three people being sentenced to prison.

The first, Jerry Brandon Gross, was charged in connection with a recent counterfeiting investigation in Dexter.

Arrested by the Dexter Police Department, Det. Lt. Trevor Pulley said an investigation revealed a home computer and scanner he had been using to generate the counterfeit bills he had attempted to pass.

Gross pleaded guilty Wednesday to the Class C felony of forgery. He waived his pre-sentence investigation and was sentenced to five years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.

Several other instances of counterfeit money are still being investigated.

David Crumley, arrested by the SEMO Drug Task Force, pleaded guilty Wednesday to the Class D felony of resisting arrest.

Crumley appeared for arraignment and waived his pre-sentence investigation before being sentenced to serve a term of three years in the Missouri State Penitentiary.

John Worley, also arrested by the SEMO Drug Task Force, pleaded guilty to the Class C felony of possession of a controlled substance.

Worley waived his pre-sentence investigation and was ordered to serve seven years in the Missouri State Penitentiary.

John Snider, arrested by the Stoddard County Sheriff's Department, appeared in court facing charges of the Class D felony of unlawful use of a weapon and the Class C felony of tampering with a witness.

Snider's case was set for trial Jan. 27.

Bobbie Turnbow, charged with the Class C felony of possession of a controlled substance, appeared for arraignment and entered a guilty plea.

Imposition of Turnbow's sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on supervised probation for a term of three years.
