Three local residents face meth-related federal charges

The Jackson Police Department announced Monday that federal charges have been filed against three men arrested in an investigation by the department and the SEMO Drug Task Force.

The three men are charged with possession of five or more grams of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

The men are: Bradley Reddick, 24, of Cape Girardeau; Michael Brown, 47, of Jackson; and Mark Rigdon, 46, of Jackson.

The men were arrested after a two-month investigation by the two agencies, said Jackson Police Capt. Robert Bonney.

Bonney said the three men were allegedly involved in bringing in and distributing the potent methamphetamine called "ice" into the local area from the Kansas City area.

Reddick was arrested on Friday and was arraigned in federal court on Monday, entering a plea of not guilty. His next hearing is set for July 15 before Magistrate Judge Frederick R. Buckles.

Brown was arrested May 27 and was still in custody Monday. Brown's next hearing date is unknown.

Rigdon was arrested on May 13. His trial has been set for July 12.

Conviction on the federal charges carries a minimum mandatory sentence of five years in a maximum security prison and a maximum of 40 years. The arrests are part of an ongoing investigation, said U.S. attorney Tim Willis.
