Three people were injured in separate accidents Tuesday.

Marcus Brown, 26, and Melvin Johnson, 27, both of Cape Girardeau were injured when the vehicle in which they were riding ran a stop sign, the Missouri Highway Patrol said.

The accident occurred at 2:05 a.m. on Route N at Route K, about two miles east of Scott City.

The vehicle driven by Brown apparently failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the side of a tractor-trailer truck. The truck driver, Marion Sweeney, 48, of Ellington was not injured.

Brown and Johnson were taken to Southeast Missouri Hospital.

Phillip St. Cin, 58, of Perkins was injured when his motorcycle ran off the road and struck a fence at 5:55 p.m. on Route T, six miles east of Zalma. He received moderate injuries and was taken to Southeast Missouri Hospital.
