DIEHLSTADT -- Three people were injured early Monday evening when a pickup truck collided with a piece of heavy farm equipment.

Percy Owens, 35, of Charleston, was driving southbound on Route 77, four miles north of Diehlstadt, when an agricultural chemical sprayer driven by Colie B. Taylor, 25, of Morley, cut in front of him, according to a spokesman for the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Owens, his 10 year-old son Percy Jr., and his 4-year-old son Pershard were transported to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston to be treated for moderate injuries.

No one in the Owens vehicle was wearing a seat belt, the spokesman said.

The driver of the sprayer was unhurt.
