MARBLE HILL -- Three Marble Hill residents were injured Friday in a two-car accident on Highway 34 at the east city limits.

The accident occurred at 8:10 a.m. when a westbound car driven by Homer Barks, 86, crossed the center line and struck an eastbound car driven by Thomas Carlton, 63, the Missouri Highway Patrol said.

Both were injured as was Theresa Eckerle, a passenger in Carlton's vehicle.

Carlton was in fair condition and Eckerle was in stable condition at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau Friday night. Barks was in satisfactory condition at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
