THREE HURT IN AREA ACCIDENTS

DONGOLA, Ill. -- A Dongola girl was injured Monday when her ATV overturned on her.

Amanda Flamm, 11, was taken by helicopter to Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau after suffering a head injury in the 11:10 a.m. accident in a wooded area near Dongola. The site is on private property.

The Illinois State Police said the victim's vehicle crossed a small creek and tried to climb a steep bank when it overturned.

Her passenger was not injured and called for help.

On Sunday, two Perryville, Mo., residents were injuried in a motorcycle accident in Ste. Genevieve County.

Driver John Day, 77, and passenger Edna Colon, 57, were taken to Ste. Genevieve Hospital after the accident on U.S. 61 at Route J.

The accident occurred when a rear wheel broke off the tricycle-style motorcycle.
