Three charged in Illinois with failure to register as sex offenders

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Union County State's Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds and Union County Sheriff David Livesay announced Tuesday that three Union County men are charged with failure to register as a sex offender.

According to a news release, the following men were charged after a sex offender compliance check conducted by Union County sheriff's deputies in November: Scott E. Peterman, 40, of Cobden, Ill.; Brandon S. Jensen, 19, of Anna, Ill.; and David E. Etherton, 46, of Anna.

Illinois law states that sex offenders must register any online identities, such as email addresses or Facebook accounts, with local law enforcement.
