A woman and two men were arrested Sunday evening in connection with an armed robbery on Broadway in Cape Girardeau, police spokesman Sgt. Adam Glueck said.
A man told officers he was walking shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday on Broadway near Henderson Avenue when he was approached by two men who struck him on the head and demanded his belongings, Glueck said. The victim told police one of the men displayed a handgun, Glueck said.
The man handed over his wallet and keys to his assailants, Glueck said.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries, which Glueck said were not serious.
The trio arrested Sunday evening included a 45-year-old woman, a 21-year-old man and a 28-year-old man, all Cape Girardeau residents, Glueck said. Their names were being withheld until formal charges are filed, Glueck said. He declined to say what led police to suspect them.
The man told police he did not know his assailants, Glueck said.
