Several area law-enforcement agencies took to the streets -- and the sky -- in a street-crimes operation Friday in Cape Girardeau.
As a result of the operation, three people were taken into custody, and three were issued summonses, Lt. Barry Hovis of the Cape Girardeau Police Department said in an email. In addition, 16 traffic summonses were issued, and nine stops conducted in which no action was taken.
Hovis said law enforcement used a helicopter to assist in the operation.
The three taken into custody were arrested on outstanding warrants, Hovis wrote: One on a felony warrant for a drug violation, one for absconding from parole and the third for failure to appear in court.
One state summons was issued by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the email said.
The Sikeston Department of Public Safety and The Poplar Bluff Police Department also assisted in the citywide operation.
