SIKESTON, Mo. -- A brief lockdown at Missouri Delta Medical Center on Friday afternoon was a precautionary measure, the Sikeston Department of Public Safety reported.
According to Capt. James McMillen, public information officer, a man threatening suicide with a firearm followed his estranged wife to the medical center where she had an appointment.
McMillen said when the man arrived at the hospital he was taken into protective custody by officers. The man never entered the hospital facility, which was under lockdown for approximately 10 minutes.
