Some of the thousands who came to see Miranda Lambert at the Show Me Center got there early. Really early.

Laurie and Thoma McCoy from Morley, Mo., started waiting at 12:30 p.m. for the doors to open at 6:30 p.m. They were among about 50 people who showed up before the Cape Girardeau concert of Lambert's "Revolution Continues" tour.

The two wore pink T-shirts with their favorite lyrics emblazoned on them. Thoma McCoy wore two shirts, one with opening act Justin Moore's lyric, "I ain't afraid of no cock-a-doodle-do." Underneath was a shirt with Lambert's lyrics "Crazy ex-girlfriend, just like you only prettier." This was her first time to see Moore in concert.

"His new CD rocks, he's good-looking and he sings about our lives," Thoma McCoy said.

For David Mahaffey of Cape Girardeau, this was his 12th time to see Lambert in concert. Mahaffey brought a guitar to be signed by Lambert at the meet-and-greet following the concert. He has been a fan since Lambert's time on the reality television show "The Nashville Star" six years ago.

"She's an honest and genuine songwriter, and all her concerts have been good," Mahaffey said.

The Randy Rogers Band opened the night with its classic country fiddle and lead guitar.

"We're from Texas," said Rogers from the stage. "We'd like to wish you good luck in the World Series as a friendly gesture of thanks for letting us play in your great state."

As the opening acts finished, anticipation for Lambert had grown.

"I'm so pumped." said Tricia Roth of Cape Girardeau. "I'm a huge fan of Miranda Lambert."

At 9:15 p.m., Lambert came on stage with her band. The crowd responded with a standing ovation.

With her pink electric guitar, Lambert began the night with a new song, "The Fastest Girl in Town."

Lambert's upcoming album, "Four the Record," will be available Nov. 11.
