The ice storm continues to affect people south of Cape Girardeau, where thousands are still dealing with no electricity.

The situation is pretty bad in our neighboring states like Kentucky and Arkansas, too. In some places, it could be until mid-February when crews get power restored.

We'll be updating numbers on outages in Southeast Missouri later today, and we'll have more photos and video from the areas hit the hardest.

Thanks to the power outages caused by this week's major ice storm, the city of Chaffee lost its water service for a brief time this morning. But within a few hours the system was back on line.
