The Cape Girardeau Police Department said today it will restrict parking along certain streets Saturday morning in anticipation of the Southeast Missouri State Univerisity Homecoming parade that begins at 9:30 a.m. at Capaha Park. After 2 a.m. Saturday, cars parked in these areas will be towed.
Scott County police say a man who tried to burglarize a home earlier this week was busted by his alleged victim. The suspected burglar rang the doorbell at the front door, then when no one answered try to enter the home through the garage in back.
He was greeted by a homeowner with a handgun.
