Themis Street will be closed to through traffic from Silver Springs Road to Pind Wood Lane starting at 7 a.m. Monday. Traffic will be detoured via Whitener Street, according to a news release from the city of Cape Girardeau.
Drainage pipes beneath the street will be replaced in an effort to alleviate storm-water issues. The Themis and Whitener Drainage Improvements Project is one of several projects approved by voters as part of a sales tax in April 2008.
The project should be complete in six weeks.
