THEBES, Ill. -- A Carbondale, Ill, man wanted for shooting two people outside a public housing complex turned himself in Monday morning to the Alexander County Sheriff's Department, the Illinois State Police announced.

THEBES, Ill. -- A Carbondale, Ill, man wanted for shooting two people outside a public housing complex turned himself in Monday morning to the Alexander County Sheriff's Department, the Illinois State Police announced. Dion L. Meadows, 24, had been wanted since Wednesday. Meadows is charged with aggravated battery with a firearm and is being held at the Tri-County Detention Center in Ullin, Ill. The victims of the shooting were taken to Saint Francis Medical Center for treatment. One victim received serious wounds while the other's wounds were described as non-life-threatening by the state police in an earlier statement. Neither victim has been named.
