Sony Pictures Entertainment recently announced "The Interview" was put back into theaters for a limited theatrical release on Christmas Day.

Among theaters airing the much-discussed film starring Seth Rogan and James Franco is Cape Girardeau's Wehrenberg Cape West 14 Cine on Christmas Day, with two screenings.

According to Wehrenberg's website, the film also will be shown at 7:30 p.m., 10:15 p.m. and 11:55 p.m. today through Thursday at Cape West 14 Cine, except New Year's Eve, when it will be shown only once, at 9:45 p.m.

"The Interview" stars Rogan and Franco as a producer and talk show star, respectively, who land an interview with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, then are recruited by the CIA to assassinate him.

From its announcement, the film drew ire from North Korea. Sony announced the film would be pulled from theaters in an ordeal that began with hackers leaking private information from Sony and its executives and led to terrorist threats being levied at theaters planning to show the film. The FBI has said North Korea was behind the hacking, although the country has denied that.

The entertainment company reversed its decision to pull the film Tuesday after receiving widespread criticism.
