ITAPCO-Missouri Terminal Inc. is observing its fifth year in Cape Girardeau.
Formerly the Mobil Oil terminal near Highway 74 and South Sprigg, the terminal was named ITAPCO's terminal of the year for 1991.
"This is a big honor," said terminal manager Allen Moore, who accepted a plaque during the firm's annual dinner held recently at the Executive Inn in Paducah, Ky. "Our terminal was selected out of a total of 18 terminals the company operates nationwide."
Mike Blevins, vice president of ITAPCO, presented the award. Also on hand at the dinner were Herman Luffman, president of ITAPCO, and Mark Helmke, director of the firm's petroleum terminals.
The Cape Girardeau terminal has received several awards during the past two years. They include safety awards for 1989, 1990 and 1991, employee of the year in 1990, and preserve reliable operations awards in 1990 and 1991.
The terminal has two employees, Moore and terminal operator Rick Clardy.
