BENTON, Mo. -- A Tennessee man is charged with various drug charges in Scott County.
John D. Foster, 19, of Union City, Tennessee, is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, according to Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter.
About 10:15 p.m. Thursday, a Scott County deputy conducted a traffic stop on a maroon vehicle bearing Tennessee license plates traveling on Highway 472, east of U.S. 61. Based on his observations of the four occupants of the vehicle and items in the vehicle, the deputy requested assistance from the Sikeston Department of Public Safety canine unit. A drug dog confirmed the presence of a narcotics odor.
During the investigation that followed, and a vehicle search, several illegal drug and paraphernalia items were seized, according to the sheriff.
