The temporary speed limit for the construction zone on East Main Street at the intersection of Lacey Street has been lifted by police chief James Humphreys.

The speed limit will return to 35 mph, after having been reduced to 20 mph to ensure greater safety of workers. The city of Jackson reminds motorists to continue using extreme caution at all times when traveling through the construction area and residents are urged to obey all speed and warning signs while contractors finish remaining work.

Lappe Cement Finishing, Inc. has completed all of the concrete work, but signal post installation and the painting of roadway markings are scheduled to be finished within the next two weeks.
