Auditions to select finalists for the 28th annual Kenny Rogers Children's Center telethon were held Feb. 9 at West Park Mall. At the "Telethon Idol," held March 15 and 16 at Sikeston Field House in Sikeston, Mo., a dozen finalists will vie for the $500 prize while supporters dial in with donations.

Last year's goal of $300,000 was surpassed by $20,000 at the telethon. This year's goal is $300,000. The annual telethon and a charity walk are the primary fundraisers for the children's center.

Finalists selected for the upcoming Kenny Rogers Children's Center Telethon Idol are Kelsey Dacus of Sikeston, Kenneth Chapman of Jackson, Dollette Jones of Sikeston, Chrissy Pazanowski of Kennett, Mo., Briana Thompson of Cape Girardeau, Erika Archie of East Prairie, Mo., Brooke Partridge of Sikeston, Donna Smithey of McClure, Ill., Kristopher Smith of Cairo, Ill., Jennifer Morgan of New Madrid, Mo., Justin Heskett of Campbell, Mo., and Stephany Francis of Charleston, Mo.
