JACKSON -- Eleven teens will compete Wednesday for the title of Jackson Homecomers Queen.
Annette Wolk, last year's queen, will crown her successor at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday on the courthouse lawn.
Kirk Williams will be master of ceremonies with Betty Hoffmeister and Emogene Schnurbusch serving as pageant coordinators. The Auxiliary of Altenthal-Joerns VFW Post 158 in Jackson sponsors the event.
Providing entertainment will be Robin Hosp and Cheryl Fortner.
The following are candidates:
Tara Beth Heisserer will represent Cape Girardeau. She will be a junior at Notre Dame High School. She is involved in cheerleading, concert choir, pep club and Spanish club. She is on the honor roll and served as Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership Ambassador.
Heisserer is assistant dance instructor at Royale Ballet and a summer junior volunteer at St. Francis Medical Center. She is the daughter of David and Patricia Heisserer.
Nicole Martin will represent Jackson. She is a graduate of Jackson High School. She is a lifeguard at the Jackson municipal pool. In high school, she was on the tennis team and marching band.
She plans to attend Southeast Missouri State University in the fall and has received a Regent's Scholarship. She is the daughter of Jim and Babs Martin.
Kristy Nagel will represent Fruitland. She will be a junior at Jackson High School this fall. She is active in Student Council, SADD, pep club, High Step, band and FBLA. She is also a volunteer at St. Francis Medical Center. She is the daughter of Mike and Brenda Nagel.
Lisa Jane Thompson will represent Pocahontas. She will be a senior at Jackson High School this fall. She is involved in track, cross country, Student Council, FHA, SADD, marching band, symphonic band and choir. She is the daughter of David and Connie Thompson.
Kerri Seabaugh of Jackson will be a senior at Jackson High School. She is active in symphonic band, choir and the tennis team. She is the daughter of Mike and Renee Seabaugh.
Shelly Seiler will represent Friedheim. She will be a senior at Oak Ridge High School this fall. She is active in Business Club, cheerleading, drill team, volleyball, and pep club. She was also secretary and treasurer of her class. She is the daughter of Lenny and Jeanne Seiler.
Deidre Marie DeLaney represents Charleston in the pageant. She is a freshman at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is majoring in physical therapy and plans to become a pediatrician. She was named to the dean's list at UMC and received the Kiwanis Club scholarship and the Excellence Award from the university. She has been a member of the National Marching Auxiliaries of America All-American Performance Team for six years.
She is the daughter of Donna Adams and the late Joe DeLaney.
Representing Bertrand is Cynthia Lee Barnett, a senior at Sikeston High School this fall. She was active in FBLA, SADD and the Red Peppers. She is the daughter of David Barnett and Sandra Mock.
Valerie Boyd is representing Sikeston. She is a graduate of Sikeston High School. She plans to attend Arkansas State University in the fall and major in physical therapy. In high school she was active in National Honor Society, Red Peppers, Biology Club and marching band. She is the daughter of Ed and Linda Boyd.
Representing Ste. Genevieve is Trisha Resinger. She will be a senior at Ste. Genevieve High School this fall. She was active in Student Council, volleyball, basketball manager, cheerleading and track.
She was also vice president of her class. She is the daughter of Earl and Martha Resinger.
Kim Croom will represent Campbell. She will be a senior at Campbell High School this fall. She is active in choir, Beta Club, German Club, SADD and band. She is the daughter of Dow and Carolyn Croom.
Sandra Rawlings will represent Malden. She will be a junior at Malden High School. She is active in SADD and marching band. She is the daughter of Don and Pat Rawlings.
Hosts and hostesses for the pageant are:
Dorcas Lynn Beussink of Jackson, a senior at Notre Dame High School. She was active in pep club, FBLA, SADD and cheerleading. She is the daughter of David and Judy Beussink.
Ryan Wayne Parenteau of Jackson, a senior at Jackson High School. He is active in football and band and is a volunteer at St. Francis Medical Center. He is the son of Wayne and Rhonda Parenteau.
Marvin Adams Jr. of Jackson, a senior at Jackson High School. Adams is active in soccer, baseball and SADD. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Adams Sr.
Danielle Nicole Drum, 7, is Little Miss Homecomer. She attends First Baptist Church in Jackson where she is a member of the Music Makers. She attends Orchard Drive Elementary. Her parents are Rick and Lisa Drum.
Brandon Dean Andrews, 7, will escort Little Miss Homecomer. He attends First Baptist Church where he is a member of the Music Makers. He also attends Orchard Drive Elementary. His parents are Ron and Paula Andrews.
