A Cape Girardeau teenager was shot in the buttocks during an altercation Monday afternoon on William Street, Cape Girardeau police spokesman Cpl. Ike Hammonds said.
The shooting victim was conscious and talking to officers at the scene before he was taken to Saint Francis Medical Center, but officers gained little information, said Hammonds, who declined to identify the teen. The wound was not life-threatening, he said. The shooting took place at about 4 p.m. in the 1100 block of William Street, he said.
"He is not being very cooperative and not being very talkative," Hammonds said. "He is being very tight-lipped. We believe he knows who shot him."
