The Scholars Academy will be held from June 9-29 on the MU campus. The academy is directed by the State Board of Education and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Its goal is to provide gifted students with an intensive, challenging learning experience that cannot be matched in a regular high school.

Participants in the academy were chosen on the basis of their grades and test scores, evidence of leadership, initiative, creativity and a submitted essay on why they want to attend.
