A teenager involved in a two-vehicle accident in Scott County earlier this month has died. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Nicholas Torres, 13, of Grand Prairie, Texas, was injured along with other members of his family when a tractor-trailer rig rear-ended the van he was in on Interstate 55 in Scott County just after 2 a.m. Aug. 10. Nicholas Torres was pronounced dead at St. Louis Children's Hospital at 3:02 a.m. Tuesday. Four other members of the Torres family were taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau with minor and moderate injuries.
