TEEN HURT IN ONE-CAR ACCIDENT ON SATURDAY

BENTON -- An Oran teenager was injured early Saturday morning in a single-vehicle accident one mile west of Benton.
The Missouri Highway Patrol reported that Tanya D. Klipfel, 16, was taken to Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau with "moderate" injuries after she lost control of the car she was driving, left the roadway, and struck an embankment.

The patrol said Klipfel was westbound on Scott County Route 250 when the accident occurred at about 1 a.m.
A spokesperson at Southeast Hospital said Klipfel, who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, was treated and released Saturday morning.
