Mid-America Teen Challenge will hold its fourth annual Strawberry Festival May 28, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The festival will be held at the Teen Challenge Training Center, about 5 miles north of Cape Girardeau on County Road 621. Mid-America Teen Challenge will hold its fourth annual Strawberry Festival May 28, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

The festival will be held at the Teen Challenge Training Center, about 5 miles north of Cape Girardeau on County Road 621.

Special events include guided tours of the training facility and strawberry fields, puppet shows for children, Teen Challenge choir mini-concerts, drawings for free quarts of strawberries and a free serving of strawberry shortcake.

Barbecue lunches will be available for purchase along with strawberry baked goods, Teen Challenge craft items and strawberries by the quart.

The public is invited to enjoy the fresh strawberries and to learn about the Teen Challenge program.

According to organizers, the purpose of the event is to allow interested individuals an opportunity to view first hand the Teen Challenge program in action and to see the result of their donations to the organization.

Mid-America Teen Challenge is proud to be celebrating its 25th anniversary throughout 1994.

Mid-America Teen Challenge began in 1969 as a religious training facility for men ages 17 and over who have had difficulties with drugs, alcohol, or other life controlling problems. There are 108 men now in residence in the 10-month program.
