Sonny Oliver will be the featured speaker at the eighth annual fund-raising banquet for Mid-America Teen Challenge.
The event will be at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau April 2 at 7 p.m.
Oliver grew up in inner-city Chicago, where he became a heroin addict. His life was turned around after he found Christ and graduating from the Teen Challenge Training Center in Rehrersburg, Pa.
He serves as program director at the Teen Challenge Center in Rehrersburg, where he heads the counseling and academic departments.
His testimony will be relevant to the problems facing many of the youth in Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois.
An added highlight of the evening will be the music of The New Creations. This choir is made up of students from Mid-America Teen Challenge.
