Cape Girardeau County again will participate in the annual Missouri Sales Tax Holiday from Aug. 1 through Aug. 3.

During those days, the county's 1 percent sales tax will be waived on purchases of back-to-school items such as computers, clothing and school supplies. State statutes list specific items that fall under the tax exemption.

The state also will waive its 4.225 percent tax during that weekend. County commissioners unanimously approved participation in the holiday during their meeting Monday.
