Eaves was thrown from the truck, and the truck rolled over him. His wife, Jennifer Eaves, 21, his son, Joseph Eaves Jr., 2, and his daughter, Brandy Eaves, 4, were riding in the truck. Jennifer Eaves and Joseph Jr. were treated for minor injuries and released at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis.

Brandy sustained a broken leg and was flown to Children's Hospital in St. Louis for observation because she recently had a liver transplant there, the State Police said.
