This week the Southeast Missourian asked, "Who do you think is responsible for the death of Princess Diana?"

Jennifer Lipps, Cape Girardeau

"I think if indeed the chauffeur was intoxicated he certainly had a hand in it, and I do think the paparazzi also."

Barbara Henson, Cape Girardeau

"I don't think I would put the blame on anybody because ... I feel like it was an act of God. I feel like it was her time to go."

Leslie McHughs, Thebes, Ill.

"I think it was the people that let this man drive the car. I think it was partly the fiancee's ... that family's fault. And I think it was the paparazzi's fault. The driver, I think it was his fault, yes, but I think it was the people who let that man drive."

Don Rohlfs, Cape Girardeau

"I believe it's the driver. Given the fact that the paparazzi were trying to catch him, the driver should have known that with him driving and drinking and already impaired, the faster he was going the more impaired he was. Therefore, he should have acted responsibly and slowed down and let them take the pictures. Why speed at an intersection like that, especially when you've got the princess in the back seat? You're endangering your life plus everyone around you."

Dr. Charles Levie, Jonesboro, Ill.

"I would say a combination of the paparazzi and the drunk driver. That's it as far as I'm concerned."
