`SYMPHONY IN WHITE' PERFORMANCE OCT. 7

The Wonderful World of Horses will make Cape Girardeau one of its stops on its 25th anniversary tour when it converges on the Show Me Center Oct. 7 at 8 p.m.

The show features the world renowned Royal Lipizzaner Stallions and emulates the Spanish Riding School of Vienna, Austria. A special presentation titled "Symphony In White" will be performed.

The Lipizzaner is a rare and unique breed, whose history is known the world over. The Walt Disney movie, "The Miracle of the White Stallion," depicting Gen. George S. Patton saving this breed from extinction, created an even greater worldwide interest in the Lipizzaner horse. Were it not for Patton, there would be no Lipizzans today.

The Wonderful World of Horses honors this galant rescue effort and salutes the Spanish Riding School of Vienna in its Anniversary producted of "Symphony In White."

Also included in the performance is a segment called the "Airs Above The Ground." These are the leaps and maneuvers once used by riders in saddle to protect and defend themselves on the battlefield.

Tickets are on sale at the Show Me Center box office and Show Me Center outlets. Adult tickets are $12.50. Children and senior citizens will be admitted for $10.50. There are limited VIP tickets available for $16.50. Tickets can be charged by phone at 651-5000.
